UPDATE: Deputy prosecutor Phil Sorensen said he will charge the 16-year-old boy with first-degree murder and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm this afternoon. Robbery appeared to be the motive, Sorensen said.
The boy in custody and another 16-year-old boy apparently confronted Watson with a gun and demanded his possessions, Sorensen said. Watson reportedly laughed at them and grabbed for the pistol when he was shot, the deputy prosecutor said.
An arrest warrant is being sought for the other boy.
